At MV Jewellery, every diamond we use is accompanied by an authentic certificate from one of the world's most respected gemological laboratories — the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the International Gemological Institute (IGI).
These certificates are your guarantee of quality, authenticity, and transparency.
What is a Diamond Certificate?
A diamond certificate — also called a grading report — is an independent, expert assessment of a diamond's characteristics. It is issued by a neutral gemological laboratory and confirms the exact quality of your stone.
Every certified diamond at MV Jewellery is graded on the 4Cs:
- Cut — How well the diamond has been shaped and faceted, directly affecting its brilliance and sparkle.
- Colour — The presence or absence of colour in the diamond, graded from D (colourless) to Z.
- Clarity — The presence of internal or external imperfections (inclusions and blemishes), graded from Flawless to Included.
- Carat — The weight of the diamond. One carat equals 0.2 grams.

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the world's foremost authority on diamonds, coloured stones, and pearls. Founded in 1931, GIA is a non-profit organisation that created the international diamond grading standards used across the industry today.
A GIA certificate is widely regarded as the gold standard in diamond grading — trusted by jewellers, buyers, and investors worldwide.
About IGI
The International Gemological Institute (IGI) is one of the largest and most respected independent gemological laboratories in the world, with offices in Antwerp, New York, Hong Kong, Mumbai, and beyond.
IGI is particularly recognised for its expertise in lab-grown diamonds, making it the preferred certification body for ethically sourced, sustainable stones.
Natural vs. Lab-Grown Diamonds
At MV Jewellery, we offer both natural diamonds and lab-grown diamonds — both certified, both real, both beautiful.
- Natural diamonds are formed over billions of years beneath the earth's surface. Each one is unique.
- Lab-grown diamonds are created in controlled environments using advanced technology. They are chemically, physically, and optically identical to natural diamonds — at a more accessible price point.
